IMPORTANT UPDATE - Attention Lenape Tech Students and Families

As we prepare for the remainder of the school year, please see the following updates.

Planned Instruction –  Planned Instruction continues at Lenape Tech.  We appreciate the flexibility and patience as we work through connection and device issues to get paper packets out to all students who have requested them.  Remember, this work is graded, and must be completed for credit.  The next round of packets for the remaining 3 weeks of the 2019-2020 school year will be distributed on Monday May 4th.  Please see below for more details.  Those students able to access the work online, the work will be posted on the student intranet site on Monday May 4th at 8:00 am.

Graduation – Recognizing and honoring the class of 2020 is of high importance to the Administration, Joint Operating Committee, Teachers, and Staff at Lenape Technical School.  While we know getting this information for the students and families of the class of 2020 is important for planning purpose, Administration is waiting as long as possible to plan a commencement ceremony so we can do so with the most current guidance as possible.  Please know it is our hope to honor the Class of 2020 with a traditional commencement ceremony, even if that means doing so at a later date.

Lenape Tech also understands that many members of the Class of 2020 are prepared to enter directly into the workforce and rely on their diploma to do so.  Lenape Tech Administration is planning a virtual commencement to be held during the regularly scheduled Friday, May 22nd ceremony  This is not the final decision and only event we may hold, but a part of our plan to meet the needs of our students who may require their diploma to begin the next chapter of their journey.

Packets-  Due to the amount of packets that need to be distributed, delay in getting the work by going through the US Mail System, and the need to collect work completed during Round 1 of Planned Instruction, Lenape Tech will be having a packet pick-up/drop off on Monday May 4th between 8:00 and 2:00 PM.

Please enter the driveway on the side lot by the gymnasium, have your name (or students name) on a piece of paper to give to the Lenape Staff Member.  Students and families may also pickup for other families who may not be able to come on Monday.  They will collect any work you have, and then give you your new packet for the next round of Planned Instruction.  You will stay in your vehicle the entire time. All packet work is due to the school by Wednesday May 20th

Caps and Gowns - Caps and Gowns will be available for pickup on Monday May 4th  beginning at 8:00 in conjunction with the packet distribution.  Students are to drive up to the gymnasium entrance, stay in their vehicles and have their name on a piece of paper.  A staff member will retrieve your cap and gown for you and any planned instruction packet if you need one.

Students are encouraged to take a picture in their cap and gown and submit to the school to be used as their graduation picture for the virtual graduation ceremony on May 22nd.  Pictures must  be taken “portrait style (vertical)”. Students should email their photo seniorpics@mylenape.net  with their full name and technical program in the subject line.  Deadline for photos is Wednesday May 13th.

Awards Assembly –  The Class of 2020 has earned significant and note-worthy accomplishments during their time at Lenape Technical School.  Lenape will be conducting a virtual Awards Assembly.  The program will be posted on our website in May.

Enrollment and Scheduling –  Due to the closure of schools and social distancing requirements, in-person interviews with new students were unable to take place.  Students will be receiving a call from one of our counselors beginning May 4th to schedule for the 2020-2021 school year.  As in any year, schedules will not be finalized until receiving final grades from the sending school districts at the conclusion of the 2019-2020 school year.  Should you have any questions, please reach out to guidance@mylenape.net with any questions.

Yearbooks – The yearbook for the 2019-2020 School Year will be available for purchase late May.  While the yearbook does not capture the traditional end of year moments, the 2019-2020 school year was full of many great moments that were captured by our staff and students.  The ability to preview the book and order options will be sent out later this month.

Respectfully,
