Dear Parents and Guardians:
Greetings! Lenape Tech’s prom will be held at the 10th Street Station on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The prom will begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 10:00 p.m. Below is all pertinent information about policies, procedures, and general information related to Lenape Tech’s prom.
General Information:
- Prom will be held at the 10th Street Station on 4/29/2023. The Grand March will be held inside of Lenape Tech’s gymnasium at 5 p.m.
- The theme is “Diamonds in the Moonlight”.
Ticket Sales:
- Tickets will be $45 per student and will be on sale from April 3rd to April 21st. Tickets will be sold before first period and during TAP in Mrs. Moore’s room (A-202).
- All forms must be completed in order to purchase a ticket (see below). Forms are available online or QR codes can be found outside of Mrs. Moore and Miss Simcik’s room.
- Upon purchasing a ticket, students will receive a picture order form.
- Please be aware that tickets are non-refundable.
Forms Needed:
- All students must complete the Prom Registration Form.
- Participants must be in at least 9th grade and must be under 21 years of age. You cannot be 21. IDs will be checked for verification. All outside guests must bring a valid ID.
- Guests must also have the Guest Form. This will be for all guests (current high school students and those who have graduated). Current high school students should have the Principal Form filled out by his/her home school. Students who have graduated must send in a valid ID.
- Forms must be completed and submitted before purchasing tickets.
Pictures:
- Students have the option to get their photos professionally taken by Larry Johns Photography.
- Group and individual packages are available and range from $10-$50.
- All money and completed order forms are due when you get your picture taken.
Prom Court:
- Students will be nominated during ticket sales.
- Students who were Snowball Court winners (King, Queen, etc) are not eligible to be nominated for Prom Court.
- Students must be in good standing with the school.
- A list of nominees will be compiled and students will vote through email. The courts will consist of five juniors and five seniors to be announced at the prom.
Appropriate Dress:
The prom is a semi-formal to formal event.
Transportation:
Students are expected to provide their own transportation to and from the 10th Street Station. *Once students enter the event, they are not permitted to exit until 9:45p.m. unless students have permission PRIOR to the start of the Prom. Students must arrive no later than 6:15 p.m. No student will be admitted after 6:15p.m.*
Grand March:
- Grand March will begin at 5 p.m.
- This is a free event in which students walk the “red carpet” with their date. Students will complete the “Grand March” form (given out during Grand March) and hand this form in as they are preparing to be announced. There is no set order for Grand March; it is based on a “first come” system.
- This is a voluntary activity for students.
- Grand March will be held at Lenape Technical School. Spectators will be permitted to enter Lenape Technical School to view Grand March in the gymnasium. There will be chairs and bleacher seating.
- Prom Court will be announced Thursday, April 27th during the school day. Prom crowning will be held at the Grand March.
Prom:
- The doors to the 10th Street Station will open at 5:45.
- Students should report to prom by 6:00 and no later than 6:15
- All students entering the 10th Street Station may be checked with metal detectors. Purses will also be searched. Backpacks are not permitted.
- Once students have entered the event, they are not permitted to leave until 9:45p.m.
- The prom will include a sit down meal, beverages, and dancing.
- If a student does not show, parents will be notified.
- This is a school sponsored event and therefore the code of conduct as stated in the handbook must be followed.
- Any student not in attendance on Friday April 28th will not be permitted to attend the Prom.
