RETURN TO IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION
Lenape Technical School will return to in-person instruction for all students on Monday, January 11th. All students will follow their regular schedule beginning on Monday January 11th. This includes all transportation, including part-time transportation to all part-time sending school districts who are in-person as well.
As a reminder, Monday, January 18th will be an in-person make-up day for our cancellation on December 16th.
We will continue to monitor the situation and speak with our medical professionals and sending districts to make the decision in the best interest of safety and education. Due to the fact that community spread is still a concern, we strongly encourage all families to screen students prior to school, stay home when you have symptoms and seek guidance from your family’s medical providers. Lenape Technical School will continue to follow all social distancing, CDC, and Pennsylvania Department of Health Orders and Guidance so that we may be able to have in-person instruction. Any student who may not be able to attend school during an isolation or quarantine period will be provided with support from teachers and staff to remain engaged throughout their time away from in-person instruction.
We appreciate the families who continue to notify the school nurse or administration of any cases or close contacts as directed by the Department of Health. While cases over the holiday break, may not influence school days, those identified with cases may be exempt from quarantining in the future as defined by the Department of Health.
The administration, teachers, and staff are excited for a full return to in-person instruction; however, this is only possible if we all do our part. We encourage you to follow all CDC, and Department of Health guidelines so we can remain in full in-person instruction.
Lenape Technical School appreciates all students, families, and the community for your flexibility and cooperation with the school to make the best of an unprecedented time in education.
Respectfully,
Wesley Kuchta, Administrative Director

Special Education Information
To our Lenape Tech Students and Families
Per Governor Wolf’s order, all schools in Pennsylvania are now closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year. While we were hopeful that our students would be able to return to Lenape and finish out the school year on campus with their teachers and friends, we must follow this directive in the interest of the safety and wellbeing of our students, faculty, and staff. Although this announcement is disappointing to many, it allows for the staff to plan more effectively for the remainder of the 19-20 school year.
Based on this directive, Lenape Tech is prepared to move our Continuity of Education from Enrichment and Review activities to Planned Instruction which will begin on Monday April 20th. These learning activities will now be required to be completed by all students. Lenape Tech’s focus will be on learning, not grading. Although these assignments will have point value and students will be assessed by their teachers, the goal will be for students to communicate with their teachers and be able to explain and apply what they have learned.
We know that access to materials and devices for online work is still a barrier, therefore all work will be available to be completed both online or packets which will be mailed. More information on the Planned Instruction will be sent out next week. Students should continue their new Enrichment and Review lessons as planned beginning on Tuesday April 14th through Friday April 17th. Those lessons will be posted online Tuesday April 14th at 8 am with packets going out in the mail that day as well.
Although the closure of schools for the remainder of the year is disappointing for all students, we are most concerned for our seniors. Please know that the staff is working on ways to celebrate their success and be recognized for their achievements during this time. In the coming weeks, we will be making decisions regarding Prom, Senior Awards Assembly, and Commencement. At the center of our decision will be the health and safety of our students, staff, and community. We also know that these events are important parts of a student’s educational experience and Lenape remains committed to celebrating their success
In addition, we know that with the sudden closure, many students have personal items at the school. Once we deem it is safe, we will be communicating an orderly process to retrieve these items.
Lastly, please take the Spring Break to reenergize, recharge, and prepare. We miss our students and we are right here with you during this most unprecedented time.
Respectfully,
Wesley P. Kuchta

Home-Study Resources
The Home-Study Resources for all Trimester 3 classes are available for students to access.
To access the Home Study Resources:
We are very excited about the number of students and parents who have already started working on the lessons and communicating with the teachers!
Remember, these assignments are designed to help students remain engaged in concepts that they were learning about prior to the school closure and are designed to promote retention and recall of important information. For these activities, we are focused on learning, not grading.
Although at this time participation and completion of the lessons is optional, we strongly encourage students to work on the assignments and stay in touch with their teachers as we continue to work through this uncertain time.
Access to Technology Survey
We also understand the limitations and barriers that may exist regarding Internet access and available devices for students and parents to connect to the online work.
In an effort to support families with these concerns, we are asking students along with their parents to complete a brief survey so that we can determine the technology needs within our school community which will help us provide resources to assist you with continued learning using an online delivery. The survey is PC and mobile-device-friendly
Our Technology Survey can be found here
Help Desk
Additionally, we have set up a Help Desk so you can provide any additional details regarding limitations you may be experiencing in accessing the online learning exercises or to request printed copies of the online work.
