Preparing for Nontraditional Gender Occupations Non-Traditional Careers for Women
Why are there so few women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics? The answer lies in our perceptions and unconscious beliefs about gender in mathematics and science. Luckily, stereotypes, bias, and other cultural beliefs can change; often the very act of identifying a stereotype or bias begins the process of dismantling it. Research has offered recommendations in three areas to help change the culture: cultivating girls’ achievements, interest, and persistence in science and engineering, creating school environments that support women in science and engineering, and counteracting bias.

Mrs. Linda Wood, Training Programs Manager from Oberg Industries will be discussing opportunities available for NonTraditional Careers in the region and here at Lenape Tech!
