Machine Operator

Location: Delmont, PA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $20.13

Shift: 3:00-11:00 PM and 11:00 PM-7:00 AM

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Machine Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain welding equipment, ensure product quality, and perform general manufacturing duties in a fast-paced environment. This position requires attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety guidelines and best practices at all times.
  • Operate forklifts to move and stage materials; understand pallet weight restrictions.
  • Perform Movex transactions and maintain accurate production records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S / TPEM / housekeeping standards.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain Center Weld equipment including:
    • Stamp press
    • Banding equipment
    • Hand skiving tools
    • Deburring tools
    • Packaging machinery
  • Ensure all materials meet proper packaging requirements.
  • Record and verify quality information on QA sheets; perform in-process inspections and calibration checks.
  • Read and interpret Manufacturing Orders and Blueprints to ensure proper weld set-up and product identification.
  • Identify and correct weld failures; check product quality and make necessary adjustments.
  • Perform weld setup, including:
    • Entering/editing data settings
    • Troubleshooting and adjusting weld settings
    • Sword cleaning and Debeader setup/operation
  • Coordinate with Crew Leaders and team members to review work in progress.
  • Prepare materials using routers and various hand tools as needed.
  • Notify maintenance personnel when equipment requires service.
  • Operate additional machinery, including:
    • Plug machine
    • Basic sawing equipment
    • Capped bolt production tools
  • Understand warehouse layout, skid tags, and sheet labeling systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven measurement skills with the ability to use various measuring devices accurately.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Experience operating saws and forklifts.
  • Solid math and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of Quality Control processes.
  • Demonstrated safe working behaviors and reliability.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions (refer to job analysis).

Pay Transparency

The salary for this position is $20.13. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. Maintenance Technician

Location: Delmont, PA
Shift: 11:00 PM-7:00 AM Monday-Friday
Pay: $22.98-$29.11

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production and support equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role involves mechanical, electrical, and fabrication tasks and requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Compliance

  • Always follow all established safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (PMs), repairs, and project-based work.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across a variety of equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, and test power transmission equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble production and support equipment using appropriate tools.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to move and stage materials, adhering to pallet weight restrictions.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet, including silo maintenance and elevated platforms.

Fabrication & Technical Work

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Fabricates basic brackets, supports, and fixtures.
  • Use hand and power tools with confidence and safety.
  • Construct scaffolding and ladders for elevated tasks.

Documentation & Systems

  • Accurately document all work (PMs, repairs, and projects) in the MPulse CMMS system.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and requisition materials for repairs and maintenance.
  • Recommend updates to CMMS equipment inventory, PM tasks, and reporting structures.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in the design, upgrade, or modification of equipment with internal teams or outside contractors.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
  • Seek out and execute maintenance tasks during planned or unplanned downtime.
  • Participate in 5S, housekeeping, and TPEM (Total Productive Equipment Management) activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Maintenance Technology preferred, or HS Diploma with equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience using MPulse or other CMMS software, preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial power transmission and support equipment are a plus.
  • Basic fabrication and welding skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency in basic work order, mechanical, and electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Valid forklift certification or demonstrated forklift operation experience.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and measurement tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Excellent math and computer skills.
  • History of safe working behavior and practices.
  • Must own and maintain a personal set of hand tools.
  • Willingness to work flexible or alternate shifts based on production schedules.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 60 feet.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work may require modified, or off-shift hours based on production needs.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Production Operator to support production operations by handling materials, operating equipment, and ensuring quality output. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position ideal for someone who takes initiative, follows processes, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

Material Handling & Equipment Operation

  • Operate forklifts to move and stage material, ensuring:
    • Adherence to pallet weight restrictions
    • Secure loading of palletized materials
    • Use of product-specific pallets
  • Operate automated material handling systems, including:
    • Squaring table
    • Pick-and-place units
    • Lift and roller conveying tables
    • Emergency stop systems and gate interlocks

Skiver Operation

  • Perform start-up inspections and equipment set-up
  • Operate skiver in both manual and automatic modes
  • Complete preventive maintenance
  • Ensure proper use of emergency stops and machine guarding
  • Conduct start-up inspections and set-up procedures
  • Operate in both manual and auto modes
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Follow all emergency stop and guarding protocols
  • Load and retrieve billets for heating
  • Set and monitor temperature and billet soak times
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance

Scrap & Quality Monitoring

  • Calculate and record recyclable scrap weights (heels and non-conforming sheet)
  • Maintain accurate production quality data on Data Collection Sheets
  • Verify measuring tool calibration
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure product meets quality standards
  • Read and interpret manufacturing orders, product labels, skid tags, and warehouse layout

Safety, Maintenance & Housekeeping

  • Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and best practices
  • Identify and report equipment maintenance needs promptly
  • Participate in housekeeping, 5S, and TPEM initiatives to maintain a clean and efficient workspace
  • Support plant-wide safety and continuous improvement programs

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven forklift operation experience
  • Previous experience with molding, shaping, or saw operation a plus
  • Strong math and measurement skills; ability to use measuring devices with accuracy
  • Computer literacy and ability to record data electronically
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and in-process inspection
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work safely
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physically able to meet job demands (refer to job analysis)
