Objective of Field
The Automotive Technician repairs various automotive problems using computers, hand tools, power tools, and various service information.
Job Duties
- Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements
- Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Diagnose and repair parts and systems on vehicles and remove units for rebuild or replacement
