Attention Lenape Tech Families,

As a Career and Technical School, we strive to maximize in-person instruction for the benefit of all students and maintain a continuity of education and learning.  However, due to the recent weather events, we have reached our limit on snow day cancellations and make-up days.  Therefore, for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year, when there is a weather cancellation, Lenape Tech will be utilizing Flexible Instruction Days.  This decision was made so that we preserve a limited Spring Break to allow students to reset and recharge to complete the many yearend tasks.  While not ideal, this switch to Flexible Instruction Days on weather cancellations will prevent the need to extend the school year as we know our graduates will be eager to start their career and enter the workforce directly after graduation.

Changes to the school calendar

  • Monday January 20th  is a make-up day for Thursday December 5th
  • Friday March 14th  is a make-up day for Monday January 6th
  • Thursday April 17th is a make-up day for Thursday January 16th

Spring Break will be Friday April 18th through Monday April 21st

Directions and expectations for students on Flexible Instruction Days are located on our website under the “Student and Parent Menu > Flexible Instruction Days.  Additionally students will be given lessons from their classroom teachers on how to access materials.  Should you have questions or concerns on your student being able to access or complete any of the school work, please contact Dr. Gurski, Assistant Director/Principal at gursjas@mylenape.net or by calling the main office at 724-763-7116

We appreciate your continued flexibility and understanding as we prepare for any additional inclement weather cancellations and our efforts to provide a meaningful education with limited disruptions to our students and families.

Respectfully,

Wesley P. Kuchta
Administrative Director

Thank You to Senator Pittman and Representative Major for Their Continued Support

Lenape Technical School is proud to announce that it has been awarded a highly competitive Pennsylvania Public School Facility Improvement Grant. This grant will provide critical funding to support ongoing efforts to upgrade critical infrastructure projects at the school.  The grant award of $931,875 will be used to replace the windows in the school which are mostly original to the buildings construction in 1965 and addition in 1975.

The school’s successful grant application was made possible by the collaborative efforts of our dedicated staff, community stakeholders, and elected officials who have long supported the mission of Lenape Technical School. Special thanks go to Senator Joe Pittman and Representative Abby Major for their unwavering support and advocacy in helping Lenape Technical School secure this important funding.

“We are thrilled to receive this Public School Improvement Grant, which will allow us to further upgrade our students' educational experience,” said Wesley Kuchta, Administrative Director of Lenape Technical School. “This award reflects the continued efforts to support Career and Technical Education in Armstrong County and the strong partnerships we have with our community and elected officials. We are particularly grateful to Senator Pittman and Representative Major, whose ongoing support has been instrumental in making this achievement possible.”

Senator Pittman, a steadfast advocate for public education and workforce development, expressed his excitement about the grant. “Lenape Technical School is an instrumental part of our community and our region. I’m very proud to support this grant, which builds upon previous investments made at the state level to help increase access to technical educational opportunities. The needs of students are changing, and its critical we work to strengthen specialized training and technical education paths to meet future workforce demands.”

Representative Major echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of supporting technical education in Pennsylvania. "“Technical education plays a key role in providing educational opportunities for students,” Major said. “The variety of programs offered at Lenape prepare graduates to enter the workforce. Not every student will follow the same path. Lenape offers alternatives. I am happy to support this project.”

Lenape Technical School looks forward to continuing its mission of providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in today’s rapidly changing job market.  To this, these funds will all continue to improve critical infrastructure needed for the effective operation of the school.
